Digital Respond: Artist Residency Vancancy

RESPOND is an opportunity for three artists (or groups of artists) to creatively respond to the first questions Zion Arts Centre’s new management asked themselves when they walked in the building.

We have successfully filled two of these posts with Single Cell Collective and their ‘Finding Zion’ project and Stuart Bowden’s Architectronic.  Look at www.zionarts.com/residencies for more information.

  We are now recruiting a third artist to complement these two, and there is a new brief:

  Digital Response

'How can Zion Arts Centre extend our reach using digital and social media tools, appealing to artists and young people through online platforms and virtual worlds?'

 The young people we support at Zion are ‘digital natives’, growing up within the digital world as the norm.  To support and inspire creativity in young people, we need to develop a digital arts practice to inform our creative offer.

  We are looking for an artist or group of artists who can help us engage young people on a digital platform, guiding us towards the vision of being at the heart of the digital revolution within the world of creative media.

Resident Inspirations.

Come and say 'hi' to our two Respond artists who will be in residence at Zion from January to March. Single Cell Collective are bringing "Hulme Buskers" and Stuart Bowden will be experimenting with "Architectonic" to combine his dance expertise with a direct interaction with the space. Combined, these artists are guaranteeing that music and dance will pour out of every nook and cranny of the building.
There will also be a wide range of other activities for  people to get stuck in and involved with ranging from MC workshops to Dance Classes to the exciting art of Capoeira!

So make sure you get yourself down to the Zion Centre on February the 7th for a family day of creative fun and a chance to get inspired!

Zion Inspiring Creativity

Zion is looking to help inspire YOU creatively. Whether it's through our many workshops for all ages, our schools and teachers programmes our our artist residencies we want you to get involved. And who knows, you might inspire us too!

Youth Membership Scheme & Young Leader's Forum.

Zion is relaunching the Youth Forum.  It’s your chance to influence what happens at Zion, shadow artists, staff and even join the Board of Management,  Learn how to run a venue, create a show, run a project from start to finish with the support of the professionals.  The Youth Forum will be whatever you make it!  First meeting Thursday 18th February from 6-8pm at the Zion Arts Centre.

Join our Youth membership scheme if you haven't already done so. No more form filling, Just flash your card whenever you want to come along to any zion events or workshops. As a Zion youth member you will get lots of other bonuses too, like being the first to find out about all the new projects which are starting over the the coming months and being entered for upcoming competitions!
