Call for Volunteer Performers
PERIPLUM are seeking 10-15 volunteer performers to participate in their performance of The Bell as part of Xtrax 2008. Volunteers will work alongside the company, as a group within the performance, in a variety of roles ranging from carrying fire torches, pyro hods and flags, to moving performing structures and clearing pathways, and perhaps some chanting and singing. The group create impact, add drama, and punctuate the performance throughout.

Previous performance experience an advantage, but not essential. Volunteers must be over 18 years old and available to attend rehearsal and performance dates in Platt's Field, on:
Thurs 5th 6pm-11pm for training/rehearsal and dress rehearsal; and
Friday 6th, 6pm-11pm for run through(s) and the Show

Periplum (www.periplum.co.uk) is one of the UK's most exciting companies producing ambitious, large scale outdoor performance. The Bell is their second large scale show; an explosive 360 degree promenade performance and major outdoor spectacle. A warring clan is razed by invading forces. As the survivors emerge from the smouldering debris they must choose to seek revenge or stay and rebuild.

Sadly the company are unable to offer expenses, but volunteers will get food on site during rehearsals, and an amazing opportunity to work with Periplum on the next development of their new show. You will gain insight into how a company operates at a large scale, the rehearsal process, different roles within the show, meet the cast, crew, and all the other volunteers, have lots of fun and a truly memorable experience.
